About
Soul Pest Control is a family owned pest control company based in Winter Haven, serving homes and businesses across Polk County with more than 25 years of experience. Every job starts with a careful inspection of the property, followed by a plain-English explanation of what we found and what the treatment plan involves. Polk County homes deal with German cockroaches, ghost ants, fire ants, spiders, and roof rats, and we treat each of those problems with a specific plan rather than a one-size-fits-all spray. You will know what we are doing and why before any product goes down.
Central Florida pests never really take a season off. Ants push indoors during the summer rainy season. Palmetto bugs move in from mulch, palms, and storm drains, and German cockroaches spread through kitchens and shared walls. Roof rats nest in palms, citrus trees, and attics, and silverfish, earwigs, and centipedes follow the moisture that comes with living near so many lakes. Our work starts by matching the treatment to the pest.
That can mean gel baiting where cockroaches actually travel, snap traps and exclusion sealing for mice, or a perimeter barrier around the foundation to stop ants and spiders before they reach the door. We also handle wasp and bee removal, flea and tick treatment, and mosquito treatment for yards where people spend their evenings. Commercial pest control is available for businesses that need a consistent schedule.
We serve homeowners and businesses in Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City. Call (580) 730-1209 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and we will set up an inspection at a time that works for you.

After removal, we point out the gaps, soffits, and lanai corners where stinging insects rebuild, so the problem does not come back.
-
Rodent Control
Soul Pest Control handles rodent control across Polk County, from Lakeland to Bartow to Haines City. We inspect for droppings, nesting, and entry points, then set snap traps and bait stations matched to how mice and roof rats actually travel along walls and rooflines. What customers say
4.8 out of 5 from 84 reviews on Google.
Steve did a great job throughout my residence. I found them because my neighbors were so please with Soul Pest control . I highly recommend this service. One more thing they have heart.
Excellent service! Steve the owner was very helpful. Very fair and affordable, was very thorough and detailed. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Steve!
I’ve used Soul Pest Control for several years now with great satisfaction. Steve is always responsive and thorough. He comes as scheduled, completes his work and reports any issues or concerns. If I’m not at home he texts his report and photos if needed. His service of treatment once every six months was new to me at first, but now I’ve seen how good it works. Very few bugs inside or out. We’ve had a few pest issues pop up due to changing circumstances, mostly new pets causing fleas, then later, no pets, and more rodent activity. In each case, I’ve been impressed with Steve’s knowledge of the pest’s behavior, life cycles, and best control techniques. His solutions were dead on (pun intended) each time. I definitely give Soul Pest Control a hearty recommendation. 3 word summary : Honest, effective, reliable.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you respond to a pest problem in Poinciana?
Call (580) 730-1209 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and tell us what you are seeing. Our 48-hour call-back guarantee means you hear from us within 48 hours of reaching out. From there we book an inspection at a time that suits your schedule, and we let you know what to expect before we arrive so you can plan around the visit.
What pests are most common in Poinciana?
Ants are a steady problem here, from fire ants in new sod to ghost ants trailing across kitchen counters. American cockroaches, often called palmetto bugs, come in from ponds, mulch and palms, and German cockroaches settle into kitchens and bathrooms, often after a move or a new tenant. Roof rats nest in palms and attics, and fleas and ticks do well in shaded yards near the wetlands.
What affects the cost of pest control in Poinciana?
The price depends on what the inspection turns up: which pest you have, how established it is, the size of the home and yard, and whether you want a one-time treatment or a yearly plan. A German cockroach problem in a kitchen needs more follow-up than a few ants on the lanai. We customize every quote, keep it honest and fair, and go over it with you before we treat.
Do you offer ongoing plans for Poinciana homes and rentals?
Yes. Homeowners can choose a yearly residential plan with regular visits that keep ants, roaches and spiders outside. Landlords with several rentals and local businesses can set up a monthly or every-other-month commercial plan, which helps when homes change tenants and pests ride in with each move. Every plan starts with an inspection and is built around your property, not a fixed package.
What drives the price of a pest control job?
Price depends on the size of the property, the type of pest, how established the problem is, and how many treatments the plan needs. A first visit includes a full inspection so the estimate reflects what was actually found, not a flat guess. You get the scope and cost explained before any work starts.
Which areas does Soul Pest Control serve?
We cover Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City, along with the rest of Polk County. We are a service-area business, so scheduling a visit is as simple as calling (580) 730-1209 and confirming your location.
How soon can a visit be booked?
Most calls can be scheduled within a few days, and we will tell you the earliest opening when you call. Office hours run Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM most days. Active infestations like roaches or wasps get priority whenever the schedule allows.
How should I prepare for the first treatment?
Prep is usually light. For inside work, clear access along baseboards and under sinks, put away food and pet dishes, and plan to keep kids and pets off treated surfaces until dry. For fleas, vacuum first and wash pet bedding. We confirm any specific prep steps when you book.
What happens during a typical service visit?
The technician inspects, explains what they found, and lays out the treatment plan in plain English. Treatments may include a perimeter barrier, crack and crevice application, bait stations, or a rodent baiting system depending on the pest. Before leaving, you get a clear summary of what was done and what comes next.
Do I need to sign up for a quarterly plan?
A one-time treatment is available, but a yearly plan with regular visits works better for Florida pests like ants, roaches, and spiders that stay active all year. If a recurring plan makes sense for your home, the technician will explain why and what each visit covers. The choice stays yours.
How do you handle wasp nests around the house?
Wasp nest removal targets the nest itself plus the surrounding area, usually eaves, soffits, and entry gaps where paper wasps and yellow jackets build. The technician treats the nest, removes it when accessible, and notes spots worth watching. Trying to knock a nest down yourself often scatters angry wasps.
Are the products used safe around kids and pets?
Treatments use EPA-registered products applied in targeted amounts, focused on entry points, harborage areas, and exterior foundations rather than broad spraying of living spaces. The technician explains reentry times and any precautions before leaving, so you know exactly when normal activity can resume.

Serving Poinciana
Poinciana is a large unincorporated community that spans the Polk and Osceola county line, south of Kissimmee. It was laid out as a planned community of separate villages, with Cypress Parkway running through the middle, and the Poinciana Parkway gives it a direct route north toward US 17/92. Much of the land around it is wooded wetland and conservation land, and retention ponds sit behind many streets. All that water and shade keeps humidity high, which favors American cockroaches, ghost ants, silverfish and the fleas and ticks that ride in on pets and wildlife. Newer subdivisions with fresh sod and turned soil give fire ants room to spread, and roof rats find cover in palms and thick landscaping along the edges of neighborhoods.
