Steve did a great job throughout my residence. I found them because my neighbors were so please with Soul Pest control . I highly recommend this service. One more thing they have heart.

— Cms Bassin · 5/5 · Review from Google

I’ve used Soul Pest Control for several years now with great satisfaction. Steve is always responsive and thorough. He comes as scheduled, completes his work and reports any issues or concerns. If I’m not at home he texts his report and photos if needed. His service of treatment once every six months was new to me at first, but now I’ve seen how good it works. Very few bugs inside or out. We’ve had a few pest issues pop up due to changing circumstances, mostly new pets causing fleas, then later, no pets, and more rodent activity. In each case, I’ve been impressed with Steve’s knowledge of the pest’s behavior, life cycles, and best control techniques. His solutions were dead on (pun intended) each time. I definitely give Soul Pest Control a hearty recommendation. 3 word summary : Honest, effective, reliable.

About Spider Control

Common questions and tips from our work with Polk County customers.

Why do spiders keep rebuilding webs in the same spots?

Spiders return to locations that offer food, shelter, and undisturbed corners. That is why web clearing alone rarely solves the problem. We knock down every web and egg sac, then treat the entry points and resting areas with a residual product so spiders moving back through those spots pick up the treatment. Changing porch lighting and trimming vegetation back from the siding helps too.

How should I care for my home after a spider treatment?

Leave the treated surfaces alone for a few days. Skip pressure washing or scrubbing exterior walls, window frames, and eaves, because the residual insecticide needs time to stay in place and work. Sweep rather than rinse near treated entry points. Indoors, vacuum regularly but avoid wiping down baseboards and window sills until we return for a follow-up check. Most homes in Polk County stay comfortable with light upkeep between visits.

Do you treat widow spiders in Polk County homes?

Widow spiders, including the brown widow, are common around Florida homes, so we check for them on every spider job. We look in garages, lanai corners, outdoor furniture, and other undisturbed spaces where widows build webs, then use glue monitoring and crack and crevice application in those zones. We will explain what we found in plain terms and what the treatment plan covers. Sticky traps also help confirm whether activity is dropping after the service.

Reduce the insects spiders feed on

Spiders set up webs where food shows up. Controlling flies, moths, and small crawling insects around your porch and foundation makes your home far less attractive. Swap bright white bulbs for warmer yellow bulbs, keep exterior trash sealed, and fix torn window screens. Our entry-point inspection will point out the specific conditions drawing both insects and spiders to your home.

Why egg sacs matter after treatment

A single egg sac can hold dozens to hundreds of spider eggs depending on the species. That is why we remove egg sacs during web clearing instead of only spraying around them. If you spot a small silk pouch tucked in a corner or under siding in the weeks after a treatment, leave it alone and mention it at your follow-up so we can check whether it hatched or needs re-treating.

Frequently asked questions

What drives the price of a pest control job?

Price depends on the size of the property, the type of pest, how established the problem is, and how many treatments the plan needs. A first visit includes a full inspection so the estimate reflects what was actually found, not a flat guess. You get the scope and cost explained before any work starts.

Which areas does Soul Pest Control serve?

We cover Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City, along with the rest of Polk County. We are a service-area business, so scheduling a visit is as simple as calling (580) 730-1209 and confirming your location.

How soon can a visit be booked?

Most calls can be scheduled within a few days, and we will tell you the earliest opening when you call. Office hours run Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM most days. Active infestations like roaches or wasps get priority whenever the schedule allows.

How should I prepare for the first treatment?

Prep is usually light. For inside work, clear access along baseboards and under sinks, put away food and pet dishes, and plan to keep kids and pets off treated surfaces until dry. For fleas, vacuum first and wash pet bedding. We confirm any specific prep steps when you book.

What happens during a typical service visit?

The technician inspects, explains what they found, and lays out the treatment plan in plain English. Treatments may include a perimeter barrier, crack and crevice application, bait stations, or a rodent baiting system depending on the pest. Before leaving, you get a clear summary of what was done and what comes next.

Do I need to sign up for a quarterly plan?

A one-time treatment is available, but a yearly plan with regular visits works better for Florida pests like ants, roaches, and spiders that stay active all year. If a recurring plan makes sense for your home, the technician will explain why and what each visit covers. The choice stays yours.

How do you handle wasp nests around the house?

Wasp nest removal targets the nest itself plus the surrounding area, usually eaves, soffits, and entry gaps where paper wasps and yellow jackets build. The technician treats the nest, removes it when accessible, and notes spots worth watching. Trying to knock a nest down yourself often scatters angry wasps.

Are the products used safe around kids and pets?

Treatments use EPA-registered products applied in targeted amounts, focused on entry points, harborage areas, and exterior foundations rather than broad spraying of living spaces. The technician explains reentry times and any precautions before leaving, so you know exactly when normal activity can resume.

Can you treat homes that get the same pests over and over?

Repeat problems usually mean the source is still there. We use an integrated pest management approach: an entry point inspection, exclusion sealing where gaps let pests in, harborage removal, and targeted treatments that break the cycle instead of just knocking down the bugs you can see.

Do you offer pest control for businesses?

Commercial pest control is available for offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and other Polk County businesses, with monthly or every-other-month plans. Service is scheduled around your operating hours, treatments are documented in writing, and recurring visits keep pest activity from turning into a customer-facing problem.
