Steve did a great job throughout my residence. I found them because my neighbors were so please with Soul Pest control . I highly recommend this service. One more thing they have heart.

— Cms Bassin · 5/5 · Review from Google

I’ve used Soul Pest Control for several years now with great satisfaction. Steve is always responsive and thorough. He comes as scheduled, completes his work and reports any issues or concerns. If I’m not at home he texts his report and photos if needed. His service of treatment once every six months was new to me at first, but now I’ve seen how good it works. Very few bugs inside or out. We’ve had a few pest issues pop up due to changing circumstances, mostly new pets causing fleas, then later, no pets, and more rodent activity. In each case, I’ve been impressed with Steve’s knowledge of the pest’s behavior, life cycles, and best control techniques. His solutions were dead on (pun intended) each time. I definitely give Soul Pest Control a hearty recommendation. 3 word summary : Honest, effective, reliable.

About Bi-Annual Pest Prevention

Common questions and tips from our work with Polk County customers.

How long does a bi-annual prevention visit take?

Most bi-annual visits take 45 minutes to an hour for an average Polk County home. The technician walks the exterior, applies a perimeter treatment along the foundation, treats key entry points, and clears any webs or nesting activity. You get a written summary of what was done and what to watch for before the next visit.

What happens on the day of my first service?

The first visit starts with a full inspection of the exterior, including the foundation line, eaves, and entry points. After the inspection, we apply the first perimeter treatment and point out anything that could invite pests, like firewood stacked against the house or a damp downspout. You receive a report and your scheduled dates for the year.

Why every six months instead of once a year?

Pest pressure shifts through the year. Ants push indoors during the June to September rainy season, roaches stay active in every month, and Central Florida's warm, humid weather keeps insects breeding. A treatment every six months renews the barrier twice a year, using integrated pest management so treatment matches what is actually active, and if pests show up in between, we call you back within 48 hours.

Water your yard after a perimeter treatment

Perimeter products need time to bind to soil and foundation surfaces. Avoid watering within a foot of your foundation for about 24 hours after service, and hold off on heavy rain-splash zones if you can. Light rain after the product has dried is fine and does not reduce the barrier.

Check weep holes and door sweeps each season

Between bi-annual visits, glance at door sweeps, garage thresholds, and sliding doors onto the lanai. These are the most common entry points for Florida ants, roaches, and spiders. Exclusion mesh or a new sweep takes minutes to install and makes every perimeter treatment last longer.

Frequently asked questions

What drives the price of a pest control job?

Price depends on the size of the property, the type of pest, how established the problem is, and how many treatments the plan needs. A first visit includes a full inspection so the estimate reflects what was actually found, not a flat guess. You get the scope and cost explained before any work starts.

Which areas does Soul Pest Control serve?

We cover Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City, along with the rest of Polk County. We are a service-area business, so scheduling a visit is as simple as calling (580) 730-1209 and confirming your location.

How soon can a visit be booked?

Most calls can be scheduled within a few days, and we will tell you the earliest opening when you call. Office hours run Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM most days. Active infestations like roaches or wasps get priority whenever the schedule allows.

How should I prepare for the first treatment?

Prep is usually light. For inside work, clear access along baseboards and under sinks, put away food and pet dishes, and plan to keep kids and pets off treated surfaces until dry. For fleas, vacuum first and wash pet bedding. We confirm any specific prep steps when you book.

What happens during a typical service visit?

The technician inspects, explains what they found, and lays out the treatment plan in plain English. Treatments may include a perimeter barrier, crack and crevice application, bait stations, or a rodent baiting system depending on the pest. Before leaving, you get a clear summary of what was done and what comes next.

Do I need to sign up for a bi-annual plan?

A one-time treatment is available, but a yearly plan with a treatment every six months works better for Florida pests like ants, roaches, and spiders that stay active all year. If a bi-annual plan makes sense for your home, the technician will explain why and what each visit covers. The choice stays yours.

How do you handle wasp nests around the house?

Wasp nest removal targets the nest itself plus the surrounding area, usually eaves, soffits, and entry gaps where paper wasps and yellow jackets build. The technician treats the nest, removes it when accessible, and notes spots worth watching. Trying to knock a nest down yourself often scatters angry wasps.

Are the products used safe around kids and pets?

Treatments use EPA-registered products applied in targeted amounts, focused on entry points, harborage areas, and exterior foundations rather than broad spraying of living spaces. The technician explains reentry times and any precautions before leaving, so you know exactly when normal activity can resume.

Can you treat homes that get the same pests over and over?

Repeat problems usually mean the source is still there. We use an integrated pest management approach: an entry point inspection, exclusion sealing where gaps let pests in, harborage removal, and targeted treatments that break the cycle instead of just knocking down the bugs you can see.

Do you offer pest control for businesses?

Commercial pest control is available for offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and other Polk County businesses, with monthly or every-other-month plans. Service is scheduled around your operating hours, treatments are documented in writing, and recurring visits keep pest activity from turning into a customer-facing problem.
